Changing with wonder
Wonder is at the core of my work. As a professional I try to stay close to my own sense of wonder, in order to invite others to inquire and experiment together in the workplace. For me, a sense of wonder is about attention, curiosity and seeing beauty and possibilities in places where that might not be self-evident. But also about taking the time to hear and inquire into each others stories in organisations, as human beings. I am always searching for those questions and stories that might create movement in a complex change issue. I love to design and facilitate change interventions and leadership programmes, but also to support the development of fellow practitioners through writing and teaching about my practice. Early 2020 I finished my doctoral research on practices that support and strengthen (a sense of) wonder in everyday and organisational life.

It was many years ago when we first realized that the questions we ask, the strenghs we notice every day, and the stories we share, can completely change how teams show up and grow. That insight became the heart of our book: 'Appreciative Inquiry as a Daily Leadership Practice'. Together with our publisher Taos Institute, we decided to make our book part of the WorldShare Books program. With that our book is from now FREELY available for everyone! -

What if we choose even more radically to place all of life – including the more-than- human world – at the centre of everything we do? What might it look like if we made more space for non-human voices? How can we work more explicitly with and in nature? How do we broaden our perspective from human flourishing to a thriving planet? These are the central questions of the special issue of the International Journal for Appreciative Inquiry (AIP) that was guest edited by our K&S colleague Joeri Kabalt.
